Helping families one woman at a time…

Welcome to The Mosaic Center

In the News - Mosaic Center: Non-profit organization seeks to help out women and families in Angelina County - Lufkin Daily News

Dear Mosaic Center Partner,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Mosaic Center, we are writing to update you on some encouraging happenings at the Center.

We are pleased and excited to announce that the Mosaic Center has hired a new executive director to lead the expansion of our important work. Her name is Donna Busler and she comes to the Center from a background in business and ministry. We are thrilled to have joining us a person whose gifts and leadership equip her to lead our organization to even greater levels of service to women in our area who are in need of a hand up in life.

For the first time in the history of the Center we are able to utilize the gifts of our staff with greater efficiency and precision. We are very grateful for the work of Kitty Bounds in helping to bring the Mosaic Center to this important point in our brief history. And, we are expecting even greater contributions from Kitty as she moves to Coordinator of Volunteer Services, where she will be able to use her considerable gifts to build and expand our volunteer base. Carol Ramsey will continue to be the Site Coordinator and will also be able to focus her abilities where they can have the maximum impact.

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the Denman-Newman family, we anticipate moving into the Center’s new home by September 1, where we will be able to significantly expand our outreach to women of the community. The new building is at 601 N. First Street and provides over 3000 square feet of space to expand our services. We hope to see you at an open house at our new facility in the near future.

The Center perceives its mission as fostering human dignity and self-sufficiency in women of the community through spiritual counseling, life skills training, vocational preparation for meaningful work, and mentoring in the virtues necessary to pursue the good and choose it in concrete actions. As always, we thank you for your continued prayers and support toward the success of the Mosaic Center and its critical mission.

Sincerely,

The Executive Board of Directors; Conni Estes, President; Emily Kistler, Vice President; Barbara Corbett, Secretary; Carol Riggs, Treasurer; Carolyn Tinkle, Past President.

GED and ESL Classes

a satellite location of Angelina College.   We have GED classes for men on Monday evening at the center from 5:30-7:30pm.  We are beginning to have ESL classes also through the college. Call the center if you are interested in attending at 936-639-5068.

Class student news…

Class #6 is finished.

On, Tuesday, February 25th one of the women asked Jesus into her heart. She told one of the volunteers, “I want to be like you, I want to have what you have.” They prayed together and were joyful. Another of the women came to the leader and said, “ I want to change my life and I want to know what I need to do to make it better. Will you help me?” This day was Christian Women’s Job Corps National Day of Prayer…we are blessed every day in the center!

Volunteer News…

We have 3 couples who are working at the center serving in various volunteer positions. One of the couples said, “It is so nice to get to work together and then have good things to talk about at the end of the day. We have truly found a place to serve and we are blessed by being here.”

eBay non-profit store for support of The Mosaic Center…

We are now accepting items that are sellable on eBay for The Mosaic Center. We have established a non-profit account and can sell donated items to support the center. If you have a collectible or something you just wanted to give but it was too valuable for a garage sale, donate to the center and receive a tax receipt for it. Call the center for more information.

This is a place where women can get a hand up rather than a hand out. Please learn more about us and get involved.  There is a place for you!
