Helping families
one woman at a time…
From the Director: Our year has been truly blessed and we have so much good news to share! We’ve served over 120 women and family members since the first of the year and now approximately 81% of our graduates have found employment. Our 6th class with nine girls graduated in April 2008. We will now be able to serve more women as a result of our new, much larger facility at 601 N. First St, which was generously donated by a local Lufkin family. Our 7th group of girls will begin classes there this fall.
Such a high number of applicants illustrates the need in our community for a program that educates women and provides job and life skills, counseling and mentoring in a Christian setting. Through our intense 10-week program, we help them improve their self esteem, train them in valuable skills and help make them ready for long term employment. Our program works on a strength-based philosophy, one woman at a time, helping them identify their own strengths and connecting them with the resources they need to become self sufficient.
All our support comes from the community, from those who freely give their time and money, and who are willing to answer God's call to help others. We continue to ask for your prayers for this important ministry. Our goal is always to use God’s word as our guide and to serve Him with dignity and grace in a world that sometimes seems sorely lacking in both.

We are a mission field right here in our own community. The Mosaic Center is financed by donations from our churches, small groups such as Bible study groups, Sunday School classes, businesses, civic groups and individuals who believe in our cause of serving at-risk women in Angelina County. Our goal is to educate and help women by encouraging, teaching and supporting them as they work toward their personal goals for success.
